Thich Naht Hanh wrote a journal during the 60's, giving his first hand account of what his life was like moving back and forth between two worlds; school in the U.S. and working as an activist in Viet Nam during the war.

I love to read journals, and this book is so touching in its sincerity and depth. It's lovely and heartening to read, a first hand example that finding peace truly comes first from within. Watching him move through his life is so helpful to me, since one of the ways I learn is to observe others then consider what I would do in similar situtations. In a sense, he, and other teachers give me a touch stone for my faith.

When I can know peace is possible, see peace in action, feel peace within myself, not only can I touch peace, I can be peace.
