I really appreciate Al's response to my post from yesterday. Emotions are running high, and we all need a chance to work those feelings out - including emotionally charged rants on our blogs. I agree with him that there is room for a variety of ideas, feelings, and responses to what is happening to our country and the world. I tend to be sensitive to the "love it or leave it" mentality that doesn't hesitate to call other views "stupid". Having been on the wrong end of that mentality, I'm particularly sensitive to that intolerance.

I also think that there is room to respect each other even when there are disagreements in points of view. And I certainly respect Al.
