My guilty pleasures that have kept me from updating here have included eBay and Yahoo of all things! I've been checking email on Yahoo for awhile now, because it keeps all my messages in one place which is very helpful. I've also done a couple of fun websites for friends and used geocities as their home. Now, the purist in me has railed against the portals and commercial sites in the past - but, you know, there is a lot to be said for the convenience of these services. Matt and I have been using either AIM or Trillian to chit chat when I'm at work, but we're switching to Yahoo messenger because of technical problems with AIM - so I'm just jumping on the bandwagon here - personalizing my myYahoo page and everything. Sheesh... first I bought a TV, now this!
Oh and I did mention eBay - now, this is completely silly! When the Lord of the Rings movie came out, Matt decided he wanted to collect the promotions from Burger King. We were getting figures as they came out - they're very neat, actually! Then my sister got into the act! She called that they were having trouble completing my nephew Adam's set. Then the fun began!
I went from Burger King to Burger King digging through boxes to find these things. I had all the figures memorized and had lists in my pockets of who needed what. We wound up with an extra set, and I started thinking "hey! what about me??" So, not only do I have a complete set, including paper cups, kids meal bags, etc. we found that there are variations of the figures, and have been collecting those too! We got a plastic storage bin to store our treasures in. Too funny! :)
