What a wonderful writing by Thich Nhat Hanh - I hadn't read this before. Practices for the 21st Century is a lovely commentary on the kinds of things that we can do on a daily basis to cultivate peace and lovingkindness - first for ourselves - then for the sake of others.

If we don't nourish ourselves, we will always feel empty, no matter how many good works we do. This is such an important reminder to me! I woke up very early this morning, and tormented myself with my past mistakes, short comings, and the long list of things that I need to do. I need to give myself permission to do some of the things in this commentary - permission to treat myself with compassion and love.

Namaste, Thay! I love you
