I just finished reading "Who Wrote the Bible" by Richard Elliott Friedman. What an eye opener! I have always been so frustrated by the contradictions and inconsistencies in the Bible that I just have never appreciated it. When I read parts of the Bible, I'll get very excited about a concept or idea that makes sense or is wonderful from a literary standpoint, but when I continued to read, it seemed like the next part would directly conflict with what I'd just read! I just didn't know what to do with that problem.

This book brings hundreds of years of Biblical scholarship to light, explaining how the Bible was written and put together. This I can get my arms around! I'm looking forward to reading the Bible again with new eyes.
