Gosh - has a new principle of business been uncovered here? EVHEAD! Is considering the proposal that WaSP's Browser Upgrade Campain is putting forth - that companies simply stop trying to code their sites to work with older browsers. The idea is that people will be forced to upgrade in order to see their wonderful work and spend their money!

I think I understand more about the business woes of Blogger now, if this is considered an acceptable plan. Do any of the "dot com" folk *ever* come up from the basement?? Do they really think that if I prefer Netscape I'm going to stop using it in order to see their site? The answer, dear geeks, is no - I will go where I'm wanted, thanks anyway!

I'm sorry, but all the wonderful bells and whistles are far more of a distraction than they are a help anyway, especially for a business site. Simple really is better. (Personal sites are an entirely different matter, of course, since they express creative ideas for a smaller, select audience.)

Believe me, when sites tell me to go download some plug in, or if things don't work on the first try - if I have to work to navigate the site, or if the type is so darn teeny I have to work to read it - I'm outta there! There is far too much talent out there to explore to waste my time on the arrogant. If a site stops me at the door to make sure I'm "kewl" enough to come in, I'll go elsewhere, buy the thing-a-majig at a user-friendly site, and sing the praises of the competitor. I won't cry any tears when that first site can't make payroll this week, either!

Knock yourselves out, designer-boys, make Bill Gates even richer than he is now. If the web stops being fun, I actually remember how to read books and go for walks! And I'm not afraid to use them!
